Toby, an affectionate baby boy with eye birth defects, was saved from an attempted stoning death. He needs a loving foster home for approximately 1 month for continued healing and socialization.

Toby was severely injured by a group of children in late January. A man resting on his porch noticed the kids were throwing rocks at something and he became concerned. The kids scattered when he approached and he rushed the kitten to Nevada SPCA.

Toby's sternum was broken and his ribs were painfully bruised.

Due to a birth defect, Toby's eyes are very small and recessed, giving him only nominal vision, so very careful kitten-proofing of your home is essential to his safety.

Michelangelo

Thank you to the Nevada Highway Patrol and Las Vegas Metro officers who successfully and safely captured this sweet boy on the freeway on January 25.

Michelangelo, a Rottweiler mix who smiles when you praise him and talk sweet, is 1 year of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Michelangelo shut down portions of I-515 and US 95. According to news reports (see below for links), Nevada Highway Patrol and Las Vegas Metro officers worked together to corral him to safety after a 30-minute chase.

Michelangelo is afraid of strangers, but he has enormous loving potential. He is ready to bloom with a gentle hero who will help him build confidence and self-esteem.

Ying

Ying likes bird-watching from household windows, purring at your side, and bonding with cats and mature kids. 

 

He is an exceptionally handsome lynx point Siamese, 5 years of age and neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Ying's previous owners declawed all four of his paws. Besides being cruel, declawing is a mutilation that often brings physical, behavioral, and emotional problems. Like so many other declawed cats, Ying could no longer use the same type of litter and he had accidents outside of his litterbox. 

 

With us, Ying is using the litterbox perfectly, plus we will recommend experimenting with very gentle and soft types of litter that won't hurt his paws.

Mateo was so matted at the time of rescue that he was unrecognizable. A man found him wandering the streets with nowhere to go and no sign of responsible ownership.

She is a snow-white shorthair with a grey crown and hypnotic eyes (heterochromia), 6 years of age and spayed, and good with other cats. 

Rani loves catnip, lounging in laps, and napping in baskets. She was found abandoned outdoors with minor injuries, including a cut on her nose.

"APPLEJACK" smart and curious Hound mix - maybe some Great Dane?

Applejack tries hard to please!   Once he is out and about on a walk however, his hound curiosity takes over, and it's a little harder to get his attention, so since he is a big strong boy, you'll need a gentle leader or front clip harness to better manage his strength on leash walks. Treats and fun training exercises will be help too. Applejack is going to look gorgeous with good quality food like he is now receiving, and flea treatment as needed during the year.

Applejack here! I'm an energetic Hound mix fella looking for my new home. As most hounds, I'm very scent-driven and love to explore and follow my nose. I'm smart and curious and if you're holding a treat I'll show you all the cool tricks I know! Sometimes I get too excited and I have a tendency to jump up on people. If you take me to some obedience courses we can work on curbing that habit and form a nice strong bond together! O'Dell is a zany-fun boy with a comical temperament. 

 

He is a golden-eyed Bully mix, chocolate & white, 4 years of age, neutered, compatible with some female dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. 

 

O'Dell was at another shelter that asked for our help due to running out of space for him.

O'Dell reportedly missed meals in a previous home and experienced desperate hunger. Understandably, food is very serious to him. We strongly recommend a very steady meal and treat schedule so he never has to fear going hungry again. Also, due to his intensity with food, he requires a home without young children.

Hi I'm Minnie - and while I may look like a mouse, I'm actually a little Chihuahua mix lady! They are super sweet and adorable Retriever mixes (we believe one of their parents is a Golden Retriever), now 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.

We rescued Lily and Nolan when they were newborns at another shelter that asked for our help. (Their seven siblings will be ready for adoption in the days and weeks to come too.) 

 

Since their rescue, they have been lovingly raised with cats, dogs, and a gentle child in a wonderful foster home.
